You recently received a report from the Executive Institute outlining Miami Children’s Hospital’s successful integration of Lean prinicples. Here are some thoughts from Narendra and an overview of the report. — Don
“Lean is an integral part of the process improvement culture at MCH and serves as the basic tool for all employees to use in the day-to-day jobs. It is the tool of choice as we prepare for the EMR and a fundamental support to our safety and quality focus in the journey to a high-reliability organization… If other CHCA hospitals reflect on our journey, I can say the most important thing is to build Lean into job descriptions, orientation, compensation and evaluation. That way, it will embed. It needs a very high level leader to be the champion.”
– Narendra Kini, M.D., M.H.A., President and CEO, Miami Children’s Hospital
